Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004083012A1] The invention relates to a method for determining a friction value (F mu ) representing frictions acting between a road and vehicle tires. For this purpose, a vehicle wheel slip value ( LAMBDA ij) describing the wheel slip at the level thereof is determined for at least one vehicle wheel. The friction value (F mu ) is determined as a function of the wheel slip value ( LAMBDA ij). For this purpose, the wheel slip values ( LAMBDA ij) are determined at different moments, in particular successive during the predefined condition of vehicle operation. The frequency distribution value for the wheel slip values ( LAMBDA ij) or slip values ( LAMBDA VA and LAMBDA HA) for an axle which are determined as a function of said wheel slip values ( LAMBDA ij) is determined. The friction value (F mu ) is determined by the evaluation of said frequency distribution value.
