[origin: EP1630117A2] Device for severing at least one sheet of web material (12) at a time, such as paper and the like, comprising: - a cutting table (19) over which the web material (12) can be guided and which is provided with a longitudinal groove (60), - a carriage (13) mounted movably above the cutting table (19), which carriage (13) is provided on the underside with at least one wheel (16,17) for pressing the web material (12) against the cutting table (19) on either side of the longitudinal groove (60), and at least one cutting body (14,15) extending in the vicinity of the at least one wheel (16,17), wherein the at least one wheel (16,17)and the cutting body (14,15) are fixedly mounted relative to each other, and at least one spring means is provided so as to obtain a spring action between the cutting table (19) on the one hand and wheel (16,17) and cutting body (14,15) on the other.
