[origin: EP1630364A1] Valve seat ring (3) comprises a cylindrical outer surface inserted into a cylindrical bore of a cylinder head (1) of an internal combustion engine to an excess of not more than 1.5 per thousand. The valve seat ring is made from a material having a low heat expansion and the cylinder head is made from a material with a larger heat expansion. Preferred Features: The excess is at least 0.1 per thousand, preferably at least 0.5 per thousand.
