Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004111594A1] A pressure sensor comprises: a measuring cell having a base body (1); a measuring membrane (2) that is joined, via the edge thereof, to the base body; means (3, 4) for generating an electrical quantity that is a function of the deformation of the measuring membrane; a circuit (5) for detecting the electrical quantity, and; a capsule (10) with a capsule body (8) and with a closure element (9) by means of which the capsule (10) is closed in a hermetically sealed manner along a joining location. Said capsule (10) surrounds the circuit (5) in order to protect it from moisture influences. The joining location (5) of the capsule is mechanically decoupled from the base body (1). The mechanical decoupling of the joining location means, for example, that at least the axial support of the pressure measuring cell in a housing (16) may not be transferred via the joining location. In so far as the capsule is placed on the base body, pressure-related and temperature-related deformations of the base body cannot have any effects upon the joining location of the capsule.
