[origin: WO2004105185A1] The invention relates to a contact element (1) for a plug or a socket of a rapidly connectable plug-in-connection. The contact element (1) is arranged in a contact carrier (2) and comprises an area for the insulating piercing connecting contacting of a conductive wire. A cord retainer (7) comprises at least one conduction chamber (7.1) for the end of the conductive wire and the contact element (1), which is in contact with the conductive wire, is arranged in the conduction chamber (7.1). The invention is characterised in that the contact element (1) comprises at least two insulating-piercing connecting flanks (1.4) which have a curved and/or polygonal-shaped cross-section and contact the conductive wire in an approximately axial direction.
