[origin: EP1487142A1] The method involves at least one first data transmission between a terminal and a primary base station over at least one fixed allocated channel whose at least one transmission parameter is regulated in a closed loop using relative channel quality information, at least one transmission over at least one common channel using parameters adapted to the channel and setting the parameters for the common channel by sending control information from a central control unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a terminal with a transmission/reception unit (b) a base station with a transmission/reception unit (c) and a communications network with an inventive terminal.
