Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1632271A1] The device has a slide (28) in which a guiding unit (18) slides. Braking jaws (29, 29`) permit to maintain the guiding unit in an initial position on the slide such that, during fall of a user, the guiding unit is moved into the slide due to force exerted on the slide by a cable. The braking jaws oppose a frictional force during movement of the guiding unit, and are clamped on respective shackles (30, 30`). Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a lifeline system including an anchoring device (B) utilization of an anchoring device.
