[origin: EP1632272A2] The fire extinguisher has foam generators mounted outside at the tunnel ends to provide mixture of foam former and water and compressed air. In the foam extinguishing pipe (10) behind the mixer (4) are means (18, 19) for adjustably constricting the pipe diameter and setting a certain initial pressure of the extinguishing foam and a predetermined flow pressure at the ejection site of the foam. the foam extinguishing pipe has a computer or empirically determined pipe diameter at which no friction can occur between the foam and the inside wall of the pipe.
