Abstract (en)
The method for the activating of a process with a preselected residual length of a band (18) during the winding off of a band from a reel involves printing a mark at the beginning of the preselected residual length, and passing the band wound from the reel past a sensor system, and the sensor system upon recognizing a mark triggers a signal for the release of an automatically running process. The marks are applied to the band by an ink jet printing process.
