Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004110664A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a structured sheet metal strip (1), comprising at least the following steps: feeding a smooth sheet metal strip (1) to a shaping device (3) along a guiding direction (4); making a primary structure (5) in the smooth sheet metal strip (1) by means of the shaping device (3), during which a number of separate shaping tools (6) act upon the sheet metal strip (1) in a manner that is essentially perpendicular to the guiding direction (4). The invention also relates to a device (3) for producing a structured sheet metal strip (1) that can produce the structured sheet metal strips (1) with a particularly low ratio of the length of undulation to height of undulation. Structured sheet metal strips (1) of this type are used, in particular, for producing purification components in mobile waste gas systems.
