[origin: EP1634651A1] The method involves electrostatically coating a work piece area with an electrically conductive coating material, which is loaded by external electrodes (6) of a manipulator machine, in a coating zone or coating cabin by a rotating atomizer (1). Another work piece area or work piece is coated in the same coating zone or coating cabin by the same atomizer or another atomizer, without loading of the coating material. An independent claim is also included for a coating device for coating of work pieces of components and attachment parts of vehicle bodies.
