Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004113037A1] The invention relates to a machine in which the workpieces (3) are machined on passing, said workpieces being transported through an inlet zone and a profiling zone (18). A guide straight edge (10) is provided in the inlet zone on which the workpieces (3) are aligned with the passing direction. According to the invention, the machined cut surfaces may be made more exactly parallel, whereby the inlet zone (1) is provided with a transport device (4), running synchronously with the workpiece supply device, along the one side of which runs the guide straight edge and along the other side of which runs a pressure device (11), for holding the workpiece in contact with the guide straight edge. An upper pressure device (14) is arranged above the transport device in the inlet zone, within the working range of which a sawing device with at least one sawing tool (17) for cutting at least one guide groove (3, 2) in the upper or lower side of the workpieces is arranged. A guide track (24) runs on from the workpiece engaging region of the sawing tool, in the pass direction, on which the workpiece runs with the guide groove thereof and which runs in a straight line through the profiling zone in the pass direction.
