[origin: WO2004111429A1] The invention relates to an injector (1) for an internal combustion engine, comprising a nozzle body (2) having at least one injection hole (5) that can be controlled with a first injector needle (8) and at least a second injection hole (6) that can be controlled with a second injector needle (15). A simplified construction of said injector (1) can be realized by coupling a first drive piston (18) to the first injector needle (8), wherein said drive piston has a first transmission surface (20) that is hydraulically coupled to a control surface (40) of a control piston (38) by means of a first pressure transmission path (44). A second drive piston (28) is coupled to the second injector needle (15) and has a second transmission surface (30) that can be hydraulically coupled to a control surface (43) of the control piston (38) by means of a second activatable and deactivatable hydraulic pressure transmission path (47). Activation and deactivation of the second pressure transmission path (47) is controlled depending on the control piston stroke.
