Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004111451A1] The invention relates to an axial piston compressor, particularly a compressor for the air-conditioning system of a motor vehicle, comprising a housing and a compressor unit, which is placed inside said housing, is driven by a drive shaft (104) and which serves to draw and compress a refrigerant. The compressor unit comprises, in a cylinder block, axially reciprocating pistons and a swash plate (107), which drives the pistons and which rotates with the drive shaft. With a predetermined rotationally moved mass of the swash plate (107) on the one hand and/or with a specified translationally moved mass on the other, the average radius, which is stipulated by the geometry and/or by the density distribution, and/or the average height of the swash plate (107) or of the pivotal portion of the swash plate is/are selected in such a manner that centrifugal forces occurring as the swash plate rotates are sufficient for counteracting the pivotal motion of the swash plate (107) in a deliberately controlling manner whereby influencing the piston stroke and thus the delivery capacity, in particular, reducing or limiting it.
