Abstract (en)
The lower support sieve (2, 27) has a greater thickness than the upper sieve (3, 28), which is up to 0.63 mm thick. The void volume of the upper sieve is 400 cm3>/m2>. Support sieve thickness is 0.70 mm or less and its void volume is 400 cm3>/m2> or less. Its open area is 32% or more and its air-permeability is 360-400 cfm. The number of empty spaces within the support sieve and/or the upper sieve, on the side facing the web, is less than or equal to their number on the opposite side, in each case. Adjustable strips are located on the upper and/or lower sieves. The fibrous paper web is produced at 1550 m/min or more. An independent claim is included for the corresponding method of making a fibrous web.
