[origin: EP1637687A2] The sliding window has a sliding glass panel (4) mounted to slide on two opposite sides in grooves in a frame structure (1) which has at least one wooden profile (2, 3). The wooden profile is covered on its free surface by a metal profile of steel, stainless steel or aluminium. The window can be operated by drive means to enable fully automatic closing in event of fire.
