Abstract (en)
The system has a fuel pump driven by an electric motor (34), an electronic circuit board (24) to regulate electric motor supply current, and an electric motor supply current measuring unit (40). The regulating unit regulates rotating speed of the motor by regulating the motor supply current about a desired value of supply current representative of a fuel pressure level downstream the pump. An independent claim is also included for a method to regulate fuel supply pressure of an internal combustion engine.
