Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005000663A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for recording a rotational movement in a vehicle steering system. According to the invention, a shaft (3) is rotatably mounted in a rack (2), the rotational movement of said shaft to be recorded. An axially displaceable element (4) is arranged on the shaft (3) and is connected thereto (3) by means of a transmission-like connection (5) which converts the rotational movement of the shaft (3) into a longitudinal movement. Said transmission-like connection (5) can be a thread or a screw-type sliding guide or a recirculating ball mechanism. The axially displaceable element (4) is axially guided by means of a longitudinal guide (6) which is pre-stressed in the radial direction, and especially by means of a component (8) of the longitudinal guide (6), having inclined lateral surfaces on the frame side. A detection device (7) consisting of a signal emitter (14) located on the axially displaceable element (4) and a sensor (15) located on the rack (2) detects the longitudinal movement of the axially displaceable element (4).
