[origin: WO2005078379A1] Barricade breakers are often used in special operations carried out by the police force, army etc. in order to temporarily incapacitate persons that are to be overpowered in closed spaces. The invention relates to a cartridge projectile comprising a penetrator (6), only the front of which breaches an obstacle, upon impact with the latter, (wall, doors, pane of glass etc.) and remains lodged by its casing (6a) in said obstacle. A rear flange (13) prevents full penetration of the target. A non-lethal substance (7) that is stored in the penetrator (6) is pyrotechnically triggered with a time-delay when the projectile is fired, so that it spreads out in a targeted manner behind the obstacle. The projectile is suitable for use in conventional launchers, in particular in hand weapons such as flare pistols and does not cause any actual bodily harm in the vicinity of the target.
