[origin: EP1643133A1] The turbocharger for an internal combustion engine has a rotatably driven compressor (6) installed in a compressor casing (2) for the compressing of induction air for the engine. The compressed air is delivered from the compressor radially outwards through an annular gap (3) in the compressor casing, with the open width (A) of the gap adjustable by a position variable element (4) of elastic material, metal, or plastic. The position variable element is fixed in the compressor casing by a pressed connection and/or positively locking elements.
