Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005003005A1] The invention relates to a method for the automated, continuous separation of individual sheets. Said method comprises the following steps: a stack (1) of individual sheets that are to be separated and that are located on a first feed element (2) is fed from a storage position into a position in which the uppermost sheet of the stack (1) can be seized by the separation unit (5); the fed stack (1) is separated sheet by sheet by the separation unit (5), whereby said stack is subsequently guided by the feed element in such a way that the respective uppermost sheet of the stack can be seized by the separation unit (5); a stack (4) of individual sheets that is to be subsequently transported to the unit and that is located on a second feed element (3) is then fed from the storage position into a position in which the uppermost sheet of the subsequently transported stack (4) lies underneath the first feed element (2); and the first stack (1) to be separated is combined with the subsequently transported stack (4) by the withdrawal of the first feed element (2) from the feed path (8).
