[origin: WO2004088012A1] The invention relates to a clamping unit (1), for a combing machine, with a clamping frame (8) which may be displaced back and forth, comprising a clamp plate (12) which form a pinch gap in the region of the clamping plate lips (13) with an upper clamp plate (14), mounted in the clamping frame (8) such as to be displaced and with a feed roller (27) mounted in the clamping frame (8) which cooperates with a feed trough (26) above the clamp plate (12) for the transport of the fibre material (W). A pair of detaching rollers (24) are arranged after the clamping unit (24) and at least one clamping position (P) for the fibre material (W) is provided between the feed trough (26) and feed roller (27). According to the invention, a simpler adjustment for differing materials can be achieved, whereby the feed trough (26) has a fixed position relative to the clamping frame (8) and at least one means (E), with adjustable position and defining the front clamping position (P1), is provided between the feed roller (27) and the feed trough (26).
