[origin: WO2005006371A1] A drive solenoid (1), a yoke (2), an armature (3) and at least one contact (4) are mounted in a housing (6+7) of an electromagnetic switching device. The drive solenoid (1), yoke (2) and armature (3) are inductively intercoupled, in such a way that when an inrush current (I) is applied to the drive solenoid (1), the armature (3) can be displaced into a pickup position, thus directly or indirectly actuating the contact (4). The yoke (2) and/or armature (3) contain(s) pulverulent magnetic material (9).
