Abstract (en)
A tobacco stream is conveyed under a foreign object detector (15) that detects foreign object in the stream. The stream without a foreign object is diverted downstream of detector by a diverter arranged in the conveyor. A portion of stream containing foreign object, is transferred in a diverter region having mechanical valve arrangement, such that the stream containing foreign object is not diverted. An independent claim is also included for a device segregating foreign objects from a tobacco stream.
