Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1645669A1] The latch (3) of a latch needle has a blade (5) that swings into a slot (19) in the needle stem (1) and ends in a spoon (6) with a recess to accommodate the needle hook. A transition region (7) is provided between blade (5) and spoon (6) where the metal thickness changes gradually in the transverse direction. A taper can also be provided along the back of the latch.
