[origin: DE10333361A1] Process for preparation of cement (9), e.g. Portland cement, by milling cement clinker (1) with sulfate containing carrier material (11), and optionally other components (2,12) in a roller mill (4) to a flour-like fineness, heating and dewatering of the sulfate containing material in a separate unit (10), calcining to the required fineness, and milling in the roller mill (4) together with the other components. An independent claim is included for a unit for carrying out the process including: roller mill (5), silos for the cement clinker and sulfate containing material (SCM), a heating gas for drying and calcining in unit (10), and a device for feeding the SCM into the roller mill (5).
