[origin: WO2005003584A1] The invention relates to a brake pad for a disc brake comprising a brake disc for a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle. Said brake pad comprises a pad support plate (2) and a friction lining (3) that is fastened onto said plate. According to the invention, the pad support plate (2) is provided with one or more beads (6) and/or ribs. The thickness of the friction lining (3) and thus its volume can therefore be significantly increased, while maintaining the necessary flexural rigidity of the pad support plate (2). This considerably prolongs the service life of the friction lining (3).
