[origin: EP1647548A1] Dicationic bis-hydrazone compound (I) is new. Dicationic bis-hydrazone compound (I) of formula (COL-L-COL) is new. COL : aryl compounds of formula (Ia)-(Ig); R 1, R 51-20C (preferably 1-16C) hydrocarbon (being able to form one or more carbonaceous cycles (optionally comprising 3-7 substituted links, optionally aromatic, optionally substituted optionally containing one or more heteroatoms or one or more group carrying a heteroatom (O or N))); R 2, R 3halo (Br, Cl or F), OH, 1-4C alkoxy, (poly)hydroxy 2-4C alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl (RO-CO-), alkylcarbonyloxy (RCO-O-), aryloxy (optionally substituted), T or CF 3; T : 1-16C hydrocarbon (being able to form one or more carbonaceous cycles (optionally comprising 3-6 substituted links, optionally aromatic, optionally substituted optionally containing one or more heteroatoms or one or more group carrying a heteroatom (O or N))), amino (optionally substituted by 1-4C alkyl (optionally comprising OH)), two alkyl radicals optionally form with N with which they are attached, an optionally substituted 5-6 membered heterocycle (optionally containing another heteroatom), alkylcarbonylamino (RCO-NR-), carbamoyl ((R) 2N-CO-) (where R is H or 1-4C alkyl), ureido (N(R) 2-CO-NR1-), sulfonamide ((R) 2N-SO 2-), alkylthio (R-S-) (where R is 1-4C alkyl) or alkylsulfonylamino (RSO 2-NR1-) (where R and R1 are H or 1-4C alkyl), nitro, cyano or halo (C or F)); or R 1+ R 2+ N (substituted by R 1) : 5-6 membered heterocycle (optionally substituted); or R 2R 2, CR 2R 2, R 3R 3, CR 3R 3aromatic cycle or a saturated or 5-6 heterocycle (optionally substituted); R : 1-4C alkyl; R 4H or T; n : 0-5; n1 : 0-4; X : an anion or a mixture of anions, organics or minerals in equal to the loads made by (Ia) or (Ib); and L : 1-60C (preferably 2-40C) hydrocarbon (being able to form one or more carbonaceous cycles (optionally comprising 3-7 substituted links, optionally aromatic, optionally substituted optionally containing one or more heteroatoms or one or more group carrying a heteroatom)). Provided that: L is not comprising peroxides, nitro, diazo or nitroso, where the bond L being connected to the atom of nitrogen quaternized of each one of chromophoric COL by intermediate carbon atom, where L not being cation; when both chromophoric COL are identical and correspond to the formula (Ia) with n is equal to n1 is equal to 0, then the group L is different from the aryl group of formula (a), (b) or (c). Independent claims are also included for: (1) a tinctorial composition (II) for the dyeing of keratinous fibers, comprising (I) in a medium; and (2) a process of dyeing keratinous fibers comprising applying (II) to keratinous fibers and allowing for a period to obtain desired coloring.
