[origin: EP1647914A2] An encryption device includes a first unit that acquires value information denoting a value of information to be encrypted, and a second unit that calculates a strength parameter denoting an encryption strength, based on the value information. It is thus possible to determine the strength parameter reasonably according to the information to be encrypted.
