[origin: EP1650441A2] The vacuum pump (1) comprises a housing (2) with at least one gas input (3) and one gas output (4). There is a rotor shaft (5) with a motor rotor (6) and a motor stator (7). The motor stator is an electrically mounted or driven element. There are supports (8) that rotatably support the rotor shaft, whilst there are also rotating ends (9) and stands (10). At least one of the electrically mounted or driven elements is mounted in the housing via an elastic building element (11). At least one of the supports may have an intermediary member (12) that is made from a material that has a high density. One of the supports may be a roller bearing and may also be a regulated magnetic bearing.
