[origin: EP2072197A1] A food e.g. cheese or sausage slicing machine has a rotating cutting blade (2) that slides between slices along a plane parallel to its axis of rotation (3). The movement between slices is effected by a regulated drive system (6, 8, 9). The assembly includes a mass balance (4) that moves in the opposite direction to the blade under the guidance of the regulated drive system. The lateral movement of the blade and mass balance is independent of the blade speed of rotation.
