[origin: WO2005007995A1] A formwork fixing (1) and method for providing support to a formwork is disclosed. The fixing (1) has a support portion (2) on which the base of a beam (14) of a formwork can be supported above a floor. The support portion (2) is movably mounted on a post (7). The post (7) and support portion (2) are arranged so that the support portion (2) can be moved relative to the post (7) in at least one (normally horizontal) direction and so that the height of the support portion (2) relative to a said floor can be adjusted (in a normally vertical direction). The formwork fixing (1) can be supported on a decking on which a concrete floor and wall is to be poured, which provides for far better support for the formwork than conventional methods in which the formwork was suspended above the decking.
