Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005016570A1] The invention relates to a method for producing weldable, highly resistant hollow bodies (1) from a tubular blank, to which a graduation of the diameter and/or the wall thickness with at least a conical or a stepped transition is applied by means of cold forming by flow-turning (A). The invention also relates to a hollow body and to the use thereof. The aim of the invention is to provide a method that enables an application-optimised, highly resistant, weldable hollow body (1) to be formed with low production costs and a high level of flexibility in the shaping and production thereof. To this end, the forming process is carried out by means of flow-turning, at least the formed region being cooled during the forming process.
