Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004101237A1] The invention relates to a cutting and transport cylinder (1) for material webs, which comprises media outlets (14) on its peripheral surface (7). When said outlets are subjected to varying pressures, the contact behaviour of the material web lying on the peripheral surface (7) of the cylinder (1) can be influenced. The cylinder also comprises a pressure supply system (3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13), via which the media outlets (14) are connected to elements that provide media at varying pressures. The invention is characterised by at least one pressure reservoir (3, 4), which forms part of the pressure supply system (3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13) and which can be connected to at least one section of the media outlets by means of a valve. The invention also relates to a method for influencing the contact behaviour of a material web lying on the peripheral surface of a cutting and transport cylinder (1), said method being carried out using the inventive cylinder (1).
