Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1507116A1] The heat shield for gas turbine combustion chambers comprises a series of tiles (26A, 26B) arranged side-by-side with gaps (45) between. These are mounted on a support plate (31) and enclose chambers (37) for cooling gas. The gaps between the plates form outlets (43) for coolant (K). Independent claims are included for: (a) combustion chambers fitted with the heat shield; and (b) gas turbines incorporating the combustion chamber.
