[origin: WO2005012819A1] The aim of the invention is to provide a heat exchanger, in particular a stacked-plate cooler for a vehicle, which increases the heat transfer, thus maximising the utilisation of the heat transfer surface. To achieve this, the inventive heat exchanger (1) is equipped with several tray-shaped plates (2a to 2z). Said plates (2a to 2z) are placed on top of one another, are sealed together on their peripheral edge and are provided with passages (4). The passages (4) lying essentially above one another form a continuous flow channel (6a to 6d) that traverses the plates (2a to 2z) and adjacent flow channels (6a to 6d) are traversed by different media (M1, M2) from an inflow side to an outflow side, the respective flow channel (6a to 6d) having an elongated cross-section (QS).
