Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2404125A] A receiver of ultra wideband (UWB) pulse signals stores a received reference signal (518) and correlates it with further received UWB signals in order to compensate for distortion and multipath reflections (fig. 4b). The data can be encoded and demodulated according to both the position and the phase of the pulse. The correlator (514) comprises a bank of multiply-add arms for correlating a differently delayed version of the reference pulse and a discriminator (612) for determining the phase of a pulse, which may encode data by bi-phase modulation.
