[origin: WO2005018985A1] A commercial vehicle (1) having a substantially U-shaped chassis (2), comprising a pair of side members (21) and a front member (22), the chassis being open at the rear, and each of the chassis side members including a mounting coupling (75); a pair of driven front wheels (5); a pair of rear wheels (4), each of which is mounted on a respective side member of the chassis by means of a respective pneumatic or pneumatic/hydraulic suspension unit (24); and a control system for selectively adjusting the suspension units (24) between a first position in which the rear of the chassis is lowered with respect to a conventional drive position, whereby the vehicle (1) can be reversed around a container (6) having mounting couplings (65) corresponding to the mounting couplings (75) on the chassis, and a second position, in which the container can be supported above the ground on the mounting couplings with the chassis in a conventional drive position supported by the suspension units for normal operation.
