Abstract (en)
The workpiece guide rail (14) and the tool (8.1, 8.2) for cutting the guide groove (5.1) in the workpiece (5) for locating this rail are aligned in the machine direction so that they extend up to the point where the milling tools (13.1) on the outside of the support rail (10.1) engage with the workpiece or extend beyond this point, and so that they extend along the outside of the press device for moving the workpiece along the rails, next to the outer side of the friction belt (7.1) next to the guide rail. The workpiece is passed through the profiler, which comprises two parallel support rails separated by a variable distance and with horizontal glide surfaces for supporting the workpiece on air cushions. An endless friction belt is located above each rail. Milling devices are located on the outsides of the rails. A guide rail above one of the support rails extends in a downwards direction towards the support rail or in an upwards direction above the glide surface on the support rail. The guide rail engages with a guide groove in the workpiece extending in the machine direction. At least one cutting device with one or more cutting tools is located before the milling devices with respect to the machine direction. The cutting device is aligned with the guide groove in the machine direction.
