[origin: CA2537279A1] The invention relates to a cutting plate for mechanical milling whose basic shape is embodied in the form of a parallelogram and whose longitudinal side s (1) are provided with straight cutting edges extended on the small corners o f the parallelogram by rounded cutting edges (2) and by edges embodied in the areas of the transversal sides thereof. The aim of said invention is to use the transversal sides of the basic shape of the cutting plate for milling processing. For this purpose, the transversal sides of the parallelogram are provided with convexly curved cutting edges (3) whose at least one curvature radius (R2) is a multiple of the curvature radius (R1) of the rounded cuttin g edges. A concavely curved edge area (4) is arranged between the less-curved cutting edges and the rounded cutting edges.
