[origin: EP1658778A2] The gaiter (16) has an envelope (18) made of an elastic material and comprising a lower edge (22) whose elastic front and rear parts are reinforced using an elastic band (36). The envelope has end edges that are not arranged symmetrically with respect to a longitudinal median plane of a foot of a user. A strap (32) has Y shaped portions (34) that are oriented in the alignment of the front and rear parts of the edge (22). The elastic band is disposed on the periphery of the envelope by extending along the lower edge (22), an upper edge (20) and end edges of the envelope.
