Abstract (en)

Transformation of mercaptans in a hydrocarbonated moiety (I), containing olefin (less than 5 wt.%), comprises: mixing (I) with hydrogen and optionally an olefinic fraction to obtain a mixture (II); and reacting (II) on a supported catalyst containing a group VIII metal, to transform at least 50% mercaptans into heavier sulfur compounds. Transformation of mercaptans in a hydrocarbonated moiety (I), containing olefin (less than 5 wt.%), comprises mixing (I) with hydrogen and optionally an olefinic fraction to obtain a mixture (II) having a hydrogen/olefin molar ratio of 0.03-2 (preferably 0.05-1) and an olefin/mercaptans molar ratio of 5-5000 (preferably 10-1000); and reacting (II) on a supported catalyst containing a metal of group VIII, to transform the mercaptans into heavier sulfur compounds with conversion rate of at least 50%.
