[origin: EP1659214A1] A papermaking assembly has a headbox that discharges a fibrous suspension through a horizontal array of tubes, each with a dilutant inlet, to an intermediate passage to a horizontal stacked array of rectangular passages. Each horizontal row of passages discharges to a single horizontal converging passage, each defined by a blade (10). One or more of the blades has a surface profile (13). The profile prevents or minimises mixing between the dilute (3) fluid fraction emerging from the vortex generator (5). The profile extends roughly the entire length of the blade as seen in the direction of flow.
