Abstract (en)
A papermaking assembly has a sieve belt that is cleaned as it passes a cleaning station incorporating a rotating drum or belt whose projecting fibres make contact with the passing sieve and lift the paper residues from the sieve. The rotating drum or belt contact surface is greater than that of the passing sieve. The contact surface fibres are softer than the sieve material and are pre-treated with a chemical agent heated to between 50 and 80 degrees centigrade. The contact surface operates in conjunction with a drying station.
