[origin: EP1659831A1] The light device has one or more LEDs and at least one temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the LEDs. A control device communicates with a power supply and the temperature sensor. The control device varies the output current from the power supply based on the detected temperature, between the rated LED current (INenn) and a lower LED threshold current (IGrenz), until the brightness reduces by a certain value compared to the brightness at the rated LED current.
