Abstract (en)

A paper sheet feeding device (1) is provided which is capable of taking out large-sized paper sheets (10) one by one safely and reliably and of allowing the device to be miniaturized, and a method of feeding paper sheets (10) using the above device. The paper sheet feeding device (1) is so configured that a reverse roller (23) accumulates paper sheets (10), a first suction belt (25) sends out one or several paper sheets (10) with specified timing, a stopper (32) retains paper sheets (10) with edges of the paper sheets (10) existing on a carrying direction side evened up, movable guides (33, 34, 35) move the paper sheets (10) to a second suction belt (37) side with the edges of the paper sheets (10) existing on a carrying direction side evened up and cancel contact with the moved paper sheets (10), and the second suction belt (37) sends out the moved paper sheets (10) one by one.
