Abstract (en)
A back-up aid indication system for a vehicle includes a sensor for providing detection coverage in a predetermined coverage zone behind a vehicle. The sensor includes an external antenna adapted for transmitting an RF field having a quasi-collimated antenna pattern in a near field. The antenna comprises a housing (266) disposed across the fascia (200) of the rear bumper of the vehicle, a plurality of flexible waveguide channels (272) disposed within the housing and each having a pair of inner surfaces (268) and a slot surface (274), and at least one coax probe (270) coupled to at least one of the plurality of flexible waveguide channels.
