Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2859730A1] In a rubber composition based on diene elastomer, reinforcing filler, vulcanization system and maleimide compound, the last component is a citracomaleimide comprising a maleimide unit and a methylmaleimide unit linked at the imide nitrogens by a hydrocarbon residue. A rubber composition suitable for tire production, based on (i) diene elastomer(s), (ii) reinforcing filler, (iii) a vulcanization system and (iv) a maleimide compound, in which (iv) is a citracomaleimide of formula (I): [Image] R : a hydrocarbon residue. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a method for the production of rubber tire compositions as above with an improved resistance to reversion, by thermomechanical mixing of a diene elastomer with reinforcing filler(s) at up to 110-190[deg]C, cooling to below 100[deg]C, adding the vulcanization system and mixing at a maximum temperature below 110[deg]C, with addition of (I) during any one of these stages; (2) finished or semi-finished articles containing such compositions, for use in vehicle tires.
