[origin: WO2005026532A1] The invention relates to a metering device comprising an actuating unit (A) that is provided with a housing (1) in which an actuator (2) is inserted and a hydraulic compensating element (13). Said hydraulic compensating element (13) is connected to the actuator and can be filled with a fluid when subjected to pressure. A first end of the actuator (2) is provided with a first end cap (3`). The inventive metering device further comprises a stop (14) that is disposed on the housing (1) in the form of a seat, faces the first end cap (3`), and defines a stopping position for the first end cap. The stop (14) maintains a maximum distance between a sealing element (6) of a valve unit (B) and the end cap (3`), said distance being smaller than the traveling distance of the actuator (2) such that the stroke of the actuator (2) beyond the end cap (3`) is sufficient for opening the valve. The first end cap (3`) hits the stop (14) when moving in the direction of the hydraulic compensating element (13) such that said movement is blocked.
