Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005027577A1] The invention relates to a thermal two point switch comprising a heating resistor (R19; R18) with a temperature dependent resistance value, a switch (S1) for closing an electric circuit of the heating resistor (R18, R19) fed by a supply current at a first temperature and for opening the electric current at a second higher temperature. The invention also relates to a method for switching off a heating resistor (R19; R18). According to the invention, means (R14, R19) are provided to detect a first electric signal dependent on the resistance value of the heating resistor (R19, R18) and the value of the supply current are provide, in addition to means (R12, R13) which are used to detect a second electric signal which is only dependent on the value of the supply current, in addition to a comparator (KS) which is used to compare third and fourth signals derived from said electric signals in order to ensure that the electrical heating resistor works in a safe and reliable manner. An output signal of the comparator (KS) is fed to a control input of the switch (S1).
